Alcove Shelving & Bespoke Bookcases in East Grinstead
Make better use of the spaces beside a chimney breast or turn an empty wall into useful storage. Oak & Stone designs and fits alcove shelving and bespoke bookcases for homes in East Grinstead, Forest Row, Crawley and surrounding Sussex towns.
Shelving and bookcases made for your room
We plan the proportions around your room and what you want to store. Books, display pieces and media equipment need different shelf depths, spacing and support, so we discuss the contents as well as the appearance.
- Fitted shelving for chimney-breast alcoves
- Made-to-measure bookcases
- Cupboards with open shelves above
- Storage for living rooms, home offices and bedrooms
- Details around sockets, skirting and uneven walls
Cost and quotation
Size, material, shelf spans, doors and the chosen finish all affect the price. A simple open bookcase and a full-height unit with cupboards require different work. Send measurements, room photos and examples of the style you like for a free quotation.
Frequently asked questions
Can you help with alcove shelving ideas?
Yes. Tell us what you want to store and show us the room. We can discuss open shelves, cupboards, proportions and a style that suits the space.
Can you fit a bookcase into an uneven alcove?
We measure the opening and allow for the room’s irregularities when planning the fitted unit.
Can shelves hold a full collection of books?
We plan materials, spans and support around the intended load. Let us know the type and quantity of books when discussing the design.
Can you include space for a television or cables?
Yes, these details can be planned into the design. Share equipment dimensions and socket positions before the layout is agreed.
